How much does it cost?

For your $10.00 membership to the West Side Improvement Club, you get to help decide how we spend the revenue generated from our three nights a week of bingo. Members also get to suggest community improvement projects to be voted on at the general membership meetings. The covered bus shelter in front of the Vocational Skill Center on National Avenue is an example of a community improvement. So for the price of a couple of cups of coffee you get a full year's membership to a long-lasting community-driven improvement club. Every year we hold our annual membership lunch where dues must be paid this lunch alone is worth the $10.00 dollar annual fee.

What do you gain by being a member of the West Side Improvement Club?

At our general meeting in May, we recognize all the mothers with a small gift and in June we do the same for the fathers.  Every General Meeting we draw a member's name and if they are present they receive $25.00.  After each general meeting, we enjoy refreshments and social time.

(Currently on Hold until further notice) On the first Saturday of each month, our potlucks provide a wonderful social time for all members and family along with having a great time playing white elephant bingo after we have all been well fed. 

(Currently on Hold until further notice) We have three special potlucks, September is a BBQ, November is Thanksgiving and December is when we deck the hall for Christmas.

the first Saturday in March we have our membership dinner. 

In December of 2010, we held our first annual children’s Christmas party and it has become a well-loved tradition ever since.

Every member gets a newsletter to remind them of our meetings and what is going on.  Active members are permitted to rent the hall at a reduced rate as explained in our by-laws.

This year at a general meeting we had Don Green, a Veteran of Pearl Harbor come and give a talk.  We had Fire District 7 come to a meeting and speak on fire prevention in the home.

In April we honored a lifelong member Wayne Arnold by presenting him with a plaque and a letter of appreciation for the devoted years of service to the club and the community over the last 66 plus years.
